Promenades Bridlington Christmas 2014

Bridlington’s Promenades Shopping Centre announces festively fun events for all the family

A series of exciting Christmas events will take place in Bridlington this month as the town’s premier shopping destination is set to be a hive of activity full of festive fun.

The Promenades Shopping Centre will be the home of Santa’s grotto in Bridlington every weekend from November 29th until Christmas after linking up with Bridlington Lions Club. Children will be able to visit the grotto by donating towards the Club.

Children will also be given an exclusive chance to have breakfast with Santa in the Quayside Diner in the Promenades on Sunday, December 7th at 10.30am.

The Centre is also giving away hundreds of pounds worth of prizes in the run up to Christmas through a number of competitions on Facebook and Twitter.

Promenades Shopping Centre Manager Maria Kamper said: “The Promenades Shopping Centre is delighted to welcome Santa here to the Promenades in the run up to Christmas to entertain children as they visit the Centre.

“As a shopping centre with the community at heart, we wanted to focus our festivities on something in which the whole family can enjoy while they finish their Christmas shopping.”

Children attending the breakfast with Santa will be able to eat a breakfast of their choice with the man himself and they will also receive a toy.

Quayside Diner Catering Manager Barbara Hastings said: “We are delighted to be involved with The Promenades’ by hosting a Breakfast with Santa.

“We are anticipating it will be really popular with all the children and everyone at Quayside Diner is looking forward to being part of this exclusive breakfast.”

Along with Santa’s visit to the Centre every weekend, The Promenades will be hosting a festive ‘Stalls in the Malls’ on December 20th, in which some of East Yorkshire’s best producers and traders will be given a place on the high street to sell unique gifts.

This comes after The Promenades linked up with Eve Lomax, the creator and organiser of Prospect Shopping Centre’s UPmarket in Hull, to bring a bespoke offering to Bridlington shoppers.

Facebook and Twitter users will be able to enter a competition to win £500 by telling the Centre what they would like for Christmas using the hashtag #DearPromenades on the centre’s social media pages.

Visitors to The Promenades can also win £100 every week in the run up to Christmas if they take a picture of themselves with a toy Santa hidden around the Centre and posting it to the Centre’s Facebook or Twitter.

The Hunmanby and District Silver Band will also be creating a festive atmosphere on Christmas Eve by playing a number of Christmas tunes in the Centre to get visitors in the spirit.

Maria continued: “The Hunmanby Silver Band is loved across East Yorkshire and we are thrilled to have them in The Promenades to create a truly festive atmosphere on Christmas Eve.

“The addition of Stalls in the Malls to the Centre gives our visitors more choice under one roof – which will benefit so many people completing their Christmas shopping.

“We are looking forward to bringing a magical Christmas to Bridlington and we hope everyone in the town comes and joins in with the festivities.”
