Spirits are high at one seaside shopping centre after being shortlisted for a prestige national retail marketing accolade for its brand-new charity ball and awards scheme.
The Promenades Shopping Centre, in Bridlington, entered the Extraordinary People Awards 2016 (EPAs) for a REVO Purple Apple Marketing Award under the Cause Related Marketing category.
The EPAs, are the first and only of its kind in the town, which brought the entire Bridlington community together, from 9-year-olds to 90-year-olds, under one roof to celebrate individuals hard work as well as raise vital funds for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.
More than 70 names were put forward for an award and 139 guests were welcomed through the through the doors of Bridlington’s most impressive historical landmark, The Bridlington Spa, where they enjoyed a glamourous evening of awards and entertainment and raising £1500 in the process.
Maria Kamper, centre manager, said: “Everyone at The Promenades is delighted that we have been shortlisted for one of the most prestige marketing awards in the retail industry.
“It is an extremely proud moment that a small shopping centre from Bridlington is making waves on the national retail stage and the shortlisting is a testament to the exceptional hard work everyone put in to make sure this initiative was a success.”
